Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions school leaders, IT directors, and operations teams ask most often.

About logi.cx

What is logi.cx?

logi.cx is an education technology consulting practice founded by Reza Malik. We help international and private schools replace fragmented tools with integrated Education Operating Systems. Our services range from diagnostics and advisory to full platform implementation.

Are you a software vendor?

No. We are an independent consulting practice. We do not sell software licenses or take vendor commissions. For enterprise implementations, we work through Beaconhouse Technology and the BEAMS360 platform — but that pathway is only recommended when it is the right fit.

What is the relationship between logi.cx and Beaconhouse Technology?

Reza Malik is the Director of Beaconhouse Technology (BT) and the architect of BEAMS360. logi.cx operates as an independent consulting practice. For advisory, diagnostics, and specialist services, logi.cx operates independently. For enterprise-scale implementations, the pathway runs through BT and the BEAMS360 platform.

Where are you based?

Reza is based between Malaysia and the UK, and works with clients across the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. Remote delivery is available globally.

About the Diagnostic

What is an Institutional Diagnostic?

A structured audit of your current technology stack, data flows, and operational processes. You receive a written report with a current-state assessment, gap analysis, and a prioritised architecture blueprint.

How long does a diagnostic take?

Two to three weeks for a single campus. Three to four weeks for multi-campus institutions. Four to six weeks for large groups.

Can the diagnostic be done remotely?

Yes. Most diagnostics are delivered remotely via video interviews and system reviews. On-site visits are available for larger engagements and recommended for multi-campus groups.

What do I get at the end?

A written report that includes a current-state map, gap analysis, target architecture, prioritised roadmap, and budget estimates. This is a decision document — designed to be presented to your board or leadership team.

Am I obligated to continue after the diagnostic?

No. The diagnostic is a standalone engagement. Many clients use it to inform their own internal decisions. If you want to continue, we scope the next phase as a separate engagement.

About Implementations

What platforms do you implement?

We are platform-agnostic and have implemented ManageBac, OpenApply, SIMS, PowerSchool, ERPNext, and custom-built solutions. For enterprise deployments, we recommend BEAMS360 through Beaconhouse Technology when it is the right fit.

How long does a typical implementation take?

It depends on the platform and scope. A single-campus SIS implementation typically takes three to six months. A multi-campus ERP deployment can take six to twelve months. We provide detailed timelines during scoping.

What if our current implementation has failed?

We offer an Implementation Rescue Assessment specifically for this situation. We assess what went wrong, what can be recovered, and whether to continue, pivot, or restart. The goal is to get you back on track with minimal additional cost.

Do you provide training?

Yes. Every implementation includes structured training for administrators, staff, and leadership. We also provide documentation and post-go-live support to ensure adoption.

Pricing and Engagement

How do you price your services?

All engagements are priced as fixed-fee projects or monthly retainers. We do not charge by the hour. You receive a detailed proposal with clear pricing before any work begins.

What is the minimum engagement size?

The Institutional Diagnostic starts at $500. This is the most common entry point and is designed to be a low-risk, high-value starting point for any institution.

What currency do you invoice in?

All invoices are in USD. We accept bank transfer (SWIFT), credit card, and selected regional payment methods.

What are the payment terms?

Typically 50% upfront and 50% on completion for project work. Monthly retainers are invoiced at the start of each month. Larger engagements can be structured with milestone-based payments.

Is the first call free?

Yes. The first call is always complimentary. We use it to understand your situation and determine whether and how we can help. There is no obligation.
